From 2016, CB–HYDRONET played a key role in the implementation of the project financed by the Royal-Society DFID on the water resources of the Congo River basin"Congo River Users Hydraulics and Morphology – CRuHM".
It is important to remember that CRuHM is a project funded by the Royal Society and implemented by a consortium of partners such as the University of Bristol and Leeds in the United Kingdom, and the Universities of Kinshasa, Rhodes and Dar es Salaam in sub-Saharan Africa. The CB–HYDRONET was identified within the framework of this project as a regional organization that could assist the project in achieving its objectives. Two members of the CB–HYDRONET were selected to conduct their doctoral research during the implementation phase of this project. The main activity of this component for the year 2017 consisted of a scientific expedition on the Congo River organized between July and August 2017 (see photo above). We hope that this new dynamic will add great value to the network's capacity to address regional issues in the management of Congo Basin water resources.
