The book "Design of an Optimal Hydrometeorological and Climate Monitoring Network for the Kasaï Watershed" presents a study carried out as part of the Project to Strengthen Socio-Economic Infrastructure in the Central Region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) . The author, a consultant hydrologist, addresses the need to collect adequate hydrological data for planning and management of water resources in the Kasai watershed. It highlights challenges faced, such as lack of consistent data and limited capacity, as well as the geostrategic and environmental importance of the basin. The book also presents the PRISE project financed by the African Development Bank, which aims to strengthen socio-economic infrastructure in the region, particularly in the areas of drinking water supply, health, education and sanitation. Finally, it describes in detail the Kasai watershed, its hydrological characteristics, its territorial organization and the socio-economic challenges it faces, particularly in the energy and water sectors.
