The general objective of this study was to assess the vulnerability due to the Climate-Water-Migrations-Conflict nexus in the Uélé, Aruwimi and Itimbiri basins. Specifically, it aimed to analyze the character, scale and pace of climate change and variability, to establish a future overview of the climate regime and to assess the degree of impact of the region study by a given exposure as well as the factors that determine the capacity of communities to generate and implement adaptation measures. It also aimed to develop by aggregation a vulnerability index integrating the components of vulnerability to climate change, namely the exposure of the environment to climatic factors, the sensitivity of the natural environment and the adaptation capacity of the affected communities. To achieve this, a rigorous methodology combining quantitative and qualitative approaches was used to analyze, standardize and aggregate the indices of the aforementioned vulnerability components in the Uélé, Aruwimi and Itimbiri river basins.
